Our Crazy Week

To say that I stressed about the Primary Program is probably an understatement. {I don't know why I stressed so much about it, all of the kids did a wonderful job!} I was so ready to not be stressed! But life doesn't work that way.
Here are the things that have happened this week...
Monday Bridger and I started getting a cold.
Tuesday my step Grandma passed away. Earlier this year she was diagnosed with an aggressive leukemia {not sure exactly what kind}. They were really aggressive with chemo but still needed to do bone marrow transplants. She had donors but they backed out. So they waited, did some more chemo, but without the transplants and for as much it was in her body, it was just a matter of time. Last week we were told that she had 2 weeks - 2 months but then after last weekend we were told that she had days, maybe.
Mabel was one of kind. She was such a wonderful part of our family and my life. She was always happy and always had a story for everything. Her stories were always funny or interesting. She was a kind and caring person. She treated my grandpa so good. We were very lucky to get to have her in our family for as long as we did. I am very grateful that I was able to get to know her and to have her love me the way she did. Two weeks ago she found out we were going to have a baby shower for little girl, so she sent grandpa up to my mom's and dad's house with a gift. Hand made baby blanket, burp rags and a sweet little hat. Even when she wasn't feeling good, she thought of others. It will definitely be different and sad without her. But I know that she is in a better, happier, healthier place with family that she has missed and a loving Heavenly Father that has a lot for her to do. Mabel was a fighter, a tough cookie but I'm glad that she is no longer suffering. Death is hard. It's not something that any of us like going through but having the knowledge that we do it makes it a little easier. I know that I will see her again and that families can be together forever.
Wednesday both of our colds went full blown. Poor Bridger was miserable. It was in his eyes, and his nose was like a faucet and he had a pretty bad cough. He tried to be a trooper but you could tell he was miserable. My heart broke every time he asked me to "Get my nose mommy!" "My eyes/nose are/is running" "I need a tissue"
We couldn't find our thermometer and Bridger insisted on riding in the trcuk, so we took a quick trip to Broulim's on Wednesday. Daddy let Bridger play with some of his decoys and his "ocolars" {binoculars} and he fell asleep like this. Bridger wouldn't let the ducks sleep out in the truck so they are now inside doing whatever he does. So funny!

Friday we went to the Dahl's to watch the BSU vs. BYU game. Sad loss. After the game I started not feeling good. There was a lot of pain in my upper abdomen and back. I couldn't sit, I couldn't lay down, I was in so much pain I was sweating and shaking. Jason and Austin gave me a blessing and then we left Bridger with Grandma and Grandpa and rushed to the hospital. The drive to the hospital was worse, my tummy got real tight and I of course got more and more scared that the baby was coming. I know what contractions feel like and it wasn't that, but I never had back labor with Bridger and was afraid that was what it was. By the time that we got me into the hosptial and on the bed to be monitored, I was doing much better {of course}. But we got to hear the babies heartbeat and be monitored for a while and she was "perfect". Turns out I was a little dehydrated, which targeted some problems with my gall bladder. My uterus was stressed and started contracting {not horrible but a tiny bit}. We stayed there for an hour and finally got to go home after being told to drink A LOT more liquids. Then we had to go get Bridger and then come home, so by the time we got home it was 1:00 am. A few hours after going to bed we were woken up by a clanging noise. What was that? Was is in the fire place? Was it in the water heater closet? Was it in the heater? There it is again! What is that? Is that a mouse??? We had caught a mouse in a trap but only on it's shoulder and it had somehow gotten under the water heater. Being as tired as we were and needing sleep for the funeral the next day, we decided that it wasn't going any where, would probably die soon and that we would leave it for a time that Austin could take care of it.
Saturday was Mabel's funeral. Bridger wasn't doing so well with his cold but we went anyway. It was a beautiful service to remember her life. My dad spoke and did a fantastic job {not surprised he is a wonderful speaker}! The whole thing was good but makes for a long day. Austin was amazing and took care of Bridger through most of it. He is incredible! After the funeral we spent the rest of the day with my family. On the way home we got to Woodruff and our car completely DIED! I hopped into the drivers spot and Austin and the guy behind us pushed us to a parking lot. My brother and dad came and helped. Our car got towed away and my dad and brother took us home. While putting Bridger to bed we hear the clanging again. REALLY?? Can it possibly still be alive??? Yes, yes it can. Austin took care of it but we couldn't believe that it was alive. I guess it's better than getting stuck under the water heater, dying and stinking.
My sweet boys on Saturday sleeping. Melt mommy's heart.

Here's our thoughts and feelings on this week...
HOLY SMOKES! But, how grateful we are for the tender mercies that we have seen and that have been given to us.
As sad as losing Mabel is, she's not suffering any more.
Bridger was feeling better Friday enough that we thought it would be okay to go out to the Dahl's. So glad that he could stay with them while we had to go to the hospital. And I'm especially grateful for the priesthood and the blessing I received. Glad we went to the hospital to find out what it was so that we can hopefully prevent any more episodes or even pre term labor. We're so grateful that none of that harmed baby girl and that she's still doing great!
Grateful that we were able to be with family and so close to family when our car died. SO glad it died on Saturday instead on the way to the hospital.
And we're grateful even for the mouse being alive when we came home. Haha.
The Lord is always there. Good, bad, non-stressful and very stressful. I have an amazing husband that is constantly my rock and has especially been amazing during these stressful times. I'm so grateful that we can look for the positive in all these crazy things and that we can see how our Heavenly Father has blessed us and loves us!
